The snaps on the adjustable hook and loop strip closure across the back keeps the diaper secure. They can be machine washed and dried for easy cleaning. Elastic at the waist and legs helps keep the diaper positioned properly.
To position a disposable pad, place the adhesive side of the disposable liner pad in front of the tail hole and toward the front (tummy side) of the cover-up. Slip your dog's tail through the tail hole. Position the cover-up between the back legs so it is snug against the underbelly. Bring the adjustable tabs up toward your dog's back, and position for a secure fit.
It is important to change the pads regularly as leaving a wet diaper on the dog may well result in sore skin or even infection. I change the pad each time the dog has gone outside and I am putting the diaper back on.
And, although it may sound obvious, be sure to remove the diaper before letting your dog go outside. From personal experience, with a black dog and black diaper it has happened to me with the dog returning to come in with a soaking wet diaper. The good news the diapers are washable.

To determine the correct size for your dog measure the waist just in front (A) of the back legs and the length from to waist on the back to the waist on the tummy (B) (measuring between the back legs).
